Sizzle Spots

I get bored really quickly. It’s really hard for me to keep a routine over a long period of time because in all honesty, it just won’t keep my attention for very long. For example, I need to work out. I have been hitting the gym, doing sprints on the track and playing sports just about everyday of my life. If I don’t work out for a few days in a row…I feel like there is something wrong. But I get bored really easily with work outs. So I mix it up….a lot. In the past year I have focused on Insanity (an intense video work out), MMA kick boxing, cycling classes, arial acrobatics (not kidding) and now I am trying to focus on long distance running in hopes of running a half marathon. Each time I pick an activity, I work on it for a few months until I get bored and then try to find my next fun work out.

As far as everything else, I am always looking to try out something new and exciting. If there is something that I haven’t done yet, I will most likely give it a go. Nothing is out of the question.

I had gone to Switzerland with my college field hockey team a while ago and we were given an afternoon to walk around Interlachen, Switzerland (beautiful). I found a kiosk that did paragliding with a few of my teammates. I was the only one that decided to pull the trigger and jump off a cliff. And it was unbelievable.

It is something that I would recommend to anyone. I’ll say the feeling of running at the edge of a cliff full speed is a bit scary, but the parachute inflates behind you and kind of lifts you off before the moment that you actually have no land to step on. My coach still tells the story of how she was sitting on the top of our hotel on the 18th floor eating lunch and I came flying by about 15 feet from the railing, just waving.

Finding something new to do, even if it’s a bit more tame than jumping off a cliff, has always and will always be something I need to do. A normal routine just isn’t my kind of thing. So, I am going to just blog a bit about the fun and exciting places that I have been in hopes that when you are bored, you can give them a try as well.
