My name is Lauren and I grew up being involved in every sport and am constantly trying to find something new to try out. Now that I have started a more sedentary lifestyle (working 40 hours a week), I have found myself searching for better and better recipes that are easy, healthy and have so much flavor they just seem to dance on your tongue. Every once in a while I will become inspired enough to spend an hour or two cooking, but normally, I come home from work STARVING and ready to eat the counter. So 20 minutes is about the longest that you will ever get me to wait.
This blog is just a collaboration of little tricks and recipes that I have either come across with work, in cook books, or just invented in my little head. I really hope to show that eating healthy can be the easy option. It doesn’t have to take you an hour to make that great tasting, well rounded meal. 15-20 minutes will do. So drive past the fast food restaurants and mix something new up. You don’t have to be an expert chef to make these things.
I also love to work out….maybe it’s because I have literally spent my whole life on some kind of field, course or arena. But once all of the organized sports came to an end, I needed to find something else to keep myself going. So now I’m just running around trying to find something to hold me attention and make me sweat. Some times I end up with some more traditional workouts…and other times you just need to get out and try something new.
I am always game to challenge myself and get involved in just about anything that comes my way. Sitting at home watching TV just isn’t exciting. Go out to a ball game, go hiking, decorate pottery, go to a class and just get active. An active lifestyle will just make you appreciate everything around you that much more and who knows…you may find something that you love that you never knew was out there.
Right now I am in the Orlando area, and am really trying to find everything there is to offer here. It really is much more than just the theme parks. Believe me. Find some inspiration here on easy recipes, or things you can do to get yourself moving. Every area is different and they all have their unique flavor. FIND IT!
