Lately, I have been reading The Happiness Project and loving it. They have an entire chapter on cleaning out the clutter in your life and it has really inspired me to start working on the little piles that are just laying around the house. So far I think I have made more of a mess than anything else. But, eventually I’m thinking it will clear itself away.
Yesterday, I was just about to run out the door to work when Crazy Girl, by Eli Young Band started playing on the radio. Oreo apparently felt inspired and started singing with it! She has only sang, if you can call it that, just a few times and every previous time, it had been to Taylor Swift. No joke. Tay Tay speaks to her.
Normally, as soon as I move, or get within her eye sight she stops. BUT! I caught her on video belting out Crazy Girl like a champ. Well, actually, she sounds like a squeaky toy that’s dying, according to my sister.
But, the video of Oreo singing reminded me of the Happiness Project a bit, because every time that I watched it, it made me laugh out loud and completely forget about all of the madness that’s going on right now. It’s my happy video 🙂
This morning I woke up, and in the spirit of trying to clean out my cabinets, I made some muffins from this mix that has been hanging around for a while.
Within the past year, I have realized how easy it is to make your own batters and mixes, and I’ve decided that I am no longer going to use those pre-made, boxed mixes anymore. It’s not only just as easy, you have control of everything that goes into the batter and the ability to change it up time after time. It’s also cheaper!
When I mixed up the batter, I wasn’t exactly satisfied with the number of blueberries that came in the package. So, I took the liberty of adding another 3/4 cup of blueberries. MUCH BETTER. I’m a big fan of loading up the blueberries in muffins.
Delish. For lunch, I polished off some broccoli leftovers from Thanksgiving and later today I’ve got a 5 mile run on the blocks because I am only 3 days away from the Half Marathon!!
Do you have something that brightens your day every time you look at it?? A video? Picture?? Person?
