Frozen Puppy Treats

I am an extreme puppy enthusiast. No kidding. I go to the dog park with my two lovelies and feel like the biggest creeper going up to every dog making high pitched baby talk noises. So it would very unlike me to not spoil my little nuggets.

Let me quickly introduce you to the beautiful pups:

I have a yellow lab, Bacon. Who is 4 years old and the sweetest dog you will ever meet. He wants to run up to every single person that he sees on the street and throw his body at them so they can pet him. If you come over to the house, he will run to the door, greet you and then run away to grab a toy to show you.

My second beautiful lady is Oreo (catch a theme??) She a a year and a half old cocker spaniel, who is as smart as they come. You can teach her a trick in no time and she will never forget it. However, she is slightly scared of people. We have just gotten her past the point of peeing on the floor every time she meets someone, but the high pitch bark is something that needs to go SOON.
Now that you have met Bacon and Oreo, you can understand where the motivation is to make them a little something. Even if you don’t have dogs yourself, you can make these treats for friends with dogs, bring them to the animal shelter, or just give them away if you have a local store.
Enough Chatting: Here are the EASY BACON AND OREO TREATS:
Ingredients:
1 Container Chicken Broth, Low Sodium and Hormone Free
3 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
6 Sticks of Puperoni (or any other stick like dog treat)
Directions:
1. Fill an ice cube tray up half way and put it in the freezer.
2. After about an hour, take them out and add a little blob of peanut butter. Top off with chicken broth. And put half a puperoni stick. Throw it back in the freezer until frozen.
And you have a Puppy Treat! They will absolutely love it! And if for some reason your dog doesn’t really want to take it, try running some water over it because their tongues may stick to it a little 🙂
Give it a try! And let me know what you think!
