This is my go to after a long day at work. These pitas are only 60 calories each and they are so versatile. I am obsessed with making a personal pizza with these at the moment and will have to start experimenting with them in the pocket form.
All I do for the pizza is grab whatever sauce I have lying around (last night it was Hunt’s Tomato Sauce, but ANY tomato sauce works, even pasta sauces!) and throw some mozzarella cheese, and anything that I have in my fridge. Last night it was mozzarella cheese, pesto sauce, fresh tomatoes and spinach. Delicious! Sliced deli meats, left over chicken, ground beef stolen from last nights meat loaf, whatever it is you can make it a 5 star meal that people would pay good money for. Just don’t forget the seasoning, they can make the pizza. I normally put the pita on a sheet of tin foil (maybe double it to make it stronger) and put the whole shebang in the oven at around 400 degrees…a bit of the impatience showing here. When the cheese has melted and you can see browning on the outside of the pita, you are good to go. Normally I have it in for 5-10 minutes. And Bon A petit.
